Nyadak James Pal, a native of Malakal, South Sudan – came to the United States as an 13 years old refugee, due to the aftermath of the second Sudanese civil war with nothing but family and clothes on her back after walking for three months through the jungles until they were able to reach the refugee camp in Ethiopia.  She was only seven years old at the time.

Nyadak Pal is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver.  Worked as a professional fashion model, traditional Sudanese cultural dancer and the creator of Nyadak Pal’s  Original African Cocoa Butter .  Nyadak serves on the board of the Pan-African Business Council and founder of the Nyadak Pal Peace Foundation.  Nyadak, speak four languages.Nyadak’s burden begin to ring loud in her spirit when she was old enough to understand what her people were going through back home and to see the Sudanese Americans coming here, but not being able to cope with the difficulties of living in American society.  She says, Sudanese people are some of the most creative, artistic, and intelligent people in the world – but sees their gifts and talents going to waste in North America.   She says, America brings Refugees here – but, no one thinks of the harsh realities of what they have gone through and the need for mental health and coping skills and the struggle here is real – to make it in the world.  She sees herself with a double mission – helping with the struggle of her people and South Sudanese children, especially the young girls here in North America and keeping her eyes on the continue struggle and young females back home in South Sudan.
